Obituary

Wesley Philip Staie was born in Thief River Falls, MN on December 4, 1944, son of Melvin & Agnes (Stahlberg) Staie. He attended Strathcona Elementary School and graduated from Greenbush High School in 1962. After he graduated he went to work at Kiene Farms in Kennedy and Arctic Cat in Thief River Falls. Wes went to apprenticeship classes for welding and later became a Boilermaker, with the Boilermakers Union 647 out of Minneapolis, MN for 47 years and retired in 2003. From 2005 to present Wes was an active member of the Lake Bronson Lions Club.

On January 15, 1982 he was united in marriage to Barbara Elaine Erickson at St. John's Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls, MN. Wes & Barb enjoyed an adventurist life together traveling through many states, such as Tennessee, Alaska, Montana, and Canada sharing the Word of God through music and testimonies before settling down in Karlstad, MN.

He had a passion for hunting, farming, and welding in his new shop. We all know he had a strong love and desire to worship through music, as well as for the last 16 years sharing the Word of God as the Pastor of Lake Bronson Covenant Church.

Wes was an amazing husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and has been blessed with many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Wes is survived by his wife Barbara. He is also survived by his sisters Eva Miller, Marie Piltingsrud and brothers Donald Staie and Byron (Peggy) Staie, his 7 children, 20 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Wesley Philip Staie, age 76, walked into glory on Thursday, November 11, 2021 at 8:15 pm at Sanford Medical Center in Thief River Falls, MN, with Barbara close to his side.

Wesley will be forever loved and missed by family and many others.

Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. in the Karlstad Baptist Church, Karlstad, MN. Interment will be in the Karlstad City Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Austin Funeral Chapel in Hallock on Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m.
