Stephen A. Walukievicz, 91, of Lancaster, MN, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 24, 2024, at Kittson Memorial Health Care Center Nursing Home in Hallock, MN.

A Christmas baby, Steve was born on December 25, 1932, in Poppleton Township, MN, to Sylvester and Marie (Sobieracki) Walukievicz. Steve lived and farmed most of his life on the family farm, and he worked for many other farmers in the area as well. Steve loved people and some of his happiest times were playing cards, shaking dice, drinking coffee, and swapping news and tall tales in the local diner. In his younger days, he loved to sing, tried to play guitar, and was often seen shaking a leg on the dance floor when there was a live band playing. Steve knew everyone, and everyone knew Steve.

Steve is survived by his sister, Vicky, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Joseph and John Walukievicz, and sisters Mary Mahova, Wendy Eberle, Verna Neubarth, and Helen Walukievicz.

A visitation for Steve will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 10, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Hallock, MN, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at Holy Rosary Cemetery.
