Stanley John Kraska, 91, of Lancaster, Minnesota passed away Monday, May 16, 2016 at Kittson Memorial Healthcare Center. Stanley was born on the family farm near Orleans, Minnesota October 16, 1924 the son of John and Josie (Charneski) Kraska. He attended country school and farmed in Richardville Township. On September 29, 1951 he was united in marriage to Eleanor Graboski at Tolstoi, Manitoba, Canada. They farmed in Richardville and St. Joseph Townships for many years. In addition to farming, Stanley worked at Motor Coach Industries in Pembina for 19 years. He retired in 1986. Stanley and Eleanor moved into Lancaster in 2013. He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
Family members include his loving wife, Eleanor; a daughter, Brenda
(Jeff) Mort, Blaine, MN; three sons, Doug (Kim) Kraska, Zimmerman, MN,
Dwayne (Julie) Kraska, Inver Grove Heights, MN and Brian (Jillayne)
Kraska, Hallock; 10 grandchildren, Krista, Kyle, Logan, Tyler, Jordan,
Blaine, Desirae, Nichole, Greg and Tayler; four great grandchildren, Makenna,
Makayla, Mason and Brooklyn; as well as nieces and nephews. He was
preceded in death by his parents; brother, Leo; and six sisters,
Frances, Bernice, Agnes, Margie, Pauline and Anne.
Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, May 21, 2016 at 11:00 a.m.
in Holy Rosary Catholic Church, rural Lancaster. Interment will be in
Holy Rosary Cemetery. Fr. Craig Vasek, presiding; Judy Kukowski,
organist; Jillayne Kraska and Karen Vold, duet. Casket bearers will be
Stanley's grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Friday evening from
6 to 8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 in St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Hallock and for one hour
prior to services on Saturday.
