Scott Flatland, 57, of Kennedy, Minnesota passed away at his home early Friday morning, May 9, 2014. Scott was born, December 12, 1956 at Fosston, MN to Joney and Gloria (Rebhahn) Flatland. He graduated from Kennedy High School in 1974 and spent 4 years in the United States Air Force. He married Joetta McCool May 17th, 1975. Survivors include his wife Joetta, children Sabrina, Kennedy MN, Scott Jr. (Amber), Peru Indiana, mother and stepfather Gloria and Pete Dziengel, brothers, Jeffrey (Julie) Fargo, ND, Jon (Kim) Prior Lake, MN, David (Kerri) Thief RIver Falls, MN, mother-in-law Marietta (Lester) Hosteller, one granddaughter, Jade, 5 step grandchildren, Courtlyan, Tajaha, Taylor, Natascha, Randi. Also several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his father Joney Flatland, Grandparents Edward & Ella Rebhahn, John and Esther Flatland, father-in-law Harold McCool, brother-in-law Donald McCool, cousins Lynn Jallo, Mathew Flatland. Memorial services are scheduled for Tuesday, May 13th, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in Maria Lutheran Church at Kennedy. Pastor Kathy Levenhagen, presiding; special music Patti Swanson and Dwight Nelson. Honorary casket bearers will be family and friends. Military honors will be accorded by the Kennedy VFW. Visitation will be held at the church on Monday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m.
