Roy Olsen, 91, of Lancaster, Minnesota was called home to the Lord on Tuesday, January 14, 2014. He was born April 25, 1922 in Caribou Township to Esten and Annie (Paulson) Olsen, the third youngest of 14 children. Roy lived and worked in many places and loved to travel. After retiring back to Kittson County he spent many years wintering in New Mexico, but Lancaster was always home to Roy. He is survived by his son, Paul Olsen, Burnsville, NC; a daughter, Sandy Olsen, Lancaster; four grandchildren, Erika (Jerry) Simonson, Charity (Jeff) Hill, Dave Roy Thompson, Raynee Thompson; three great grandchildren, Isabella, Lilly and Garrett Roy; and many loved nieces and nephews. Roy is also survived by his second family, the Cafe Card Crew. He was preceded in death by his parents; six brothers, Maynard, Bennie, Arthur, George, Hjalmer and Rudolph; seven sisters, Ethel, Ruby, Pearl, Olga, Inga, Nora and Donna Mae. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, January 18th, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the Austin Funeral Chapel at Hallock . Interment will be in Riverview Memorial Garden Cemetery, Lancaster. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service. Pastor Kathy Levenhagen, presiding. Honorary casket bearers will be family and friends.
