Ronald G. Cox, 89, formerly of Humboldt, Minnesota died on Thursday, November 14, 2019 at Pembina County Memorial Hospital in Cavalier, North Dakota.
Ronald was born May 25, 1930 at Hallock, Minnesota to Howard and Irene (Finney) Cox. An only child, he was raised on the family farm, farming there until moving to Cavalier. He attended rural Joe River School and the North Star Church. In his youth he enjoyed playing on a hockey team with his friends at Emerson Manitoba. He was a life long member of the Joe River Cemetery Board. For a time he resided at the Borg Home in Mountain, North Dakota later living at Wedgewood Manor in Cavalier for several years until his passing.
He is survived by several cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; and grandparents, Emory and Maud (Thompson) Finney and Abram and Elizabeth (Pharis) Cox.
Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, November 21, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in Austin Funeral Chapel, Hallock, MN. Interment will be in the Joe River Cemetery. Pastor David Van Wingerden of the Pembina Evangelical Free Church will preside. Doug Finney and Betty Irving will provide special music. Casket bearers will be Douglas Finney, Raymond Ward, Robert Ward, John Finney, Dan Finney and James Moris. The family prefers memorials to the Joe River Cemetery Association and the Pembina Evangelical Free Church.
