Roger Weberg, 76, a lifelong Lancaster, Minnesota resident passed on Monday, April 22, 2013 at Valley Eldercare in Grand Forks, North Dakota. Roger Alvin Weberg was born at Hallock, Minnesota on February 17th, 1937, the son of Alvin and Helen (Zakrison) Weberg. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and was a member of Sion Lutheran Church. Roger served with the U.S. Army from 1959 to 1961. He returned to Lancaster and was united in marriage to Beverly Burton on November 3, 1962 at Humboldt, Minnesota. Roger worked for Roy Bylund Trucking, the city of Lancaster, was a former manager of Midland Cooperative Services in Lancaster, did heating and air conditioning installation, carpentry work and served as the local handyman. Beverly passed away in 2005. Roger was a member of the Lancaster American Legion and was a former city council member. He is survived by a daughter, Jana (Loren) Younggren, Hallock; sons, Randal (Kristine) Weberg, Becker, MN and Steven (Michelle) Weberg, Stephen, MN; eight grandchildren, Amanda (Tim) Caillier, Savannah (Evan) Bernstrom, Jonathan, Rachel, Christopher, Sophie, Madalyn and Greta Weberg; three sisters, Dianne (Maurice) Sugden, Hallock, Connie (Ron) Bernstrom, Anoka, Mn and Lori (Skip) Perry, Anchorage, AK; as well as nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Beverly; brothers, Danny and Larry; and his step father, Clifford Sundem. Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, April 26, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in Sion Lutheran Church at Lancaster. Interment will be in Riverview Memorial Garden Cemetery, Lancaster. Rev. Melodi Hagen, presiding; Jacki Przekwas, pianist and Cindy Kuznia, soloist. Honorary casket bearers will the Lancaster American Legion Honor Guard. Casket bearers will be Greg Peterson, Mark Peterson, Scott Wallenberg, Charles Olsonoski, Matthew Anderson and Patrick Anderson. Military honors will be accorded by the Lancaster American Legion. Visitation will be held at the Austin Funeral Home in Hallock on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m.
