Rodger L. Hultgren, 88, of Lake Bronson, Minnesota passed away at Karlstad Healthcare Center on Sunday, August 31, 2014. Rodger was born August 4, 1926 at Kenneth, Minnesota to Tinko and Amelia (Olson) Hultgren. He grew up near Lake Bronson and was confirmed in the Lutheran faith. On August 4, 1950 he married Margaret Larson at her parent's (Helmer and Stella Larson) home. They settled on the family farm west of Lake Bronson and lived there until 1966 when they moved into town. Rodger worked at Urbaniak Implement from 1962 until his retirement in 1986. Margaret passed away on June 23, 2006. Rodger was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and served on the church board. He was also a member of the Lake Bronson Lion Club. Family members include his children, Bonita (Peter) Stusynski, Strandquist, MN, Barb (Ryan) Murray, Eagan, MN and Randy (Tana) Hultgren, Union Lake, MN; grandchildren, Joette (Chris) Hennen, Jade Anderson, Taira Anderson (Brian Fontaine), Ashlea (Patrick) Brons, Alison (Travis) Pearce, Liz Murray and Chad Hultgren; great grandchildren, Kyler, Emily, Jake, Lauryn, Colin, Damien and Camieo; brothers, Keith (Michele) Hultgren, Grand Forks, ND and Kenny (Darla) Hultgren, Hallock, MN; brothers-in-law, Galen (Phyllis) Sele, Paulsbo, WA and Don Gilbertson, Hudson, WI; as well as nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret; parents, Tinko and Amelia; step mother, Earlice Hultgren; foster parents, Levi and Alma Hultgren and a sister-in-law, Helen Gilbertson. Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, September 5, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in Zion Lutheran Church, Lake Bronson. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Lake Bronson. Visitation will be held at the Austin Funeral Home in Hallock on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m.
