Robert J. (Bob) Steenerson, 63, of Drayton, North Dakota passed away at Wedgewood Manor in Cavalier, North Dakota surrounded by family on Friday, March 18, 2016.  Robert was born November 27, 1952 at Drayton to Marlen and Margery (Cochran) Steenerson.  He grew up in Drayton and was a graduate of Drayton High School.  After high school he worked for Jarshaw Construction and at Farmers Union.  On June 30, 1973 he married Elizabeth Hanson and together raised a son, Christopher.  Robert enjoyed hunting, target shooting, fishing, horses and old westerns.  His pride and joy was his granddaughter, Tatumn.

Family members include his son, Christopher (Tiffany), Grand Forks; granddaughter, Tatumn; mother, Margery, Drayton; siblings, Thomas (Doreen), Grand Forks, Nancy (Dan) Anderson, Cavalier and Barbara, Drayton; as well as uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Robert was preceded in death by his father; grandparents and nephew, Travis.

Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, March 21, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in Drayton United Methodist Church. Interment will be in Drayton City Cemetery. Rev. Gary Johnson, presiding; Karen Schumacher and Shirley VanCamp will provide special music. Casket bearers will be Steve Staskivige, Loren Knutson, Mike Aasand, Nathan Kasprowicz, Ron Heiser, Brett VanCamp and Corey Hjelmstad.  Visitation will be held on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. in Austin Funeral Chapel, Drayton with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. and at the church for one hour prior to the service.
