Robert "Bob" Quiner, 80, of Lancaster, Minnesota passed away at Kittson Memorial Healthcare Center in Hallock early Monday morning, November 18th, 2013 from Parkinson's Disease. Bob was born and raised on the family farm by the banks of the Two River near Lancaster on April 13, 1933 to Raymond and Ruth (Ristad) Quiner. He attended school in Lancaster and the Northwest School of Agriculture in Crookston, Minnesota. Bob served with the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955. On August 26, 1955 he was united in marriage to Luella Isaacson at Sion Lutheran Church in Lancaster. Bob was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at Sion, where he was an active member. Bob and Luella raised their family and operated the Quiner farm where Bob grew up. In addition to farming, Bob was a school bus driver in the Lancaster School for 36 years. He was a member of the American Legion, Lancaster Lions, North Star Square Dance Club and Lancaster Golf Course. Bob also enjoyed camping at Lake Bronson State Park with his children, grandchildren and friends. Family members include Luella, his wife of 58 years; three children, Mark (Julie), Chanhassen, MN, Mary Beth (Charles) Dziengel, Kennedy, MN and Kris (Mike) Faken, Lancaster; seven grandchildren, Amanda and Linsey Quiner, Chad, Paul and Denise Dziengel, Andrew (Katie), and Alissa Faken; a great granddaughter, Quinn Signie Faken; a brother, Gale (Shirley) Quiner, Hallock; a sister, Beverly Olson, Wisconsin and a sister-in-law, Joanne Quiner, Hallock. Bob was preceded in death by his son, Blake; a brother, Allan Ray; brother-in-law, Jerry Olson; and parents. Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, November 22, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in Sion Lutheran Church at Lancaster. Interment will be in Riverview Memorial Garden Cemetery, Lancaster. Rev. Melodi Hagen, presiding; special music provided by St. Patrick's Choir. Casket bearers will be Bob's grandchildren. Military honors accorded by the Lancaster American Legion. Visitation will held at the church for two hours prior to the service.
