Richard Keith Van Camp, 70, of Drayton, North Dakota passed away early Friday morning at Sanford Medical Center in Fargo.  Richard was born in Drayton on August 15, 1946 to Robert and Edith (Parker) Van Camp.  He was baptized and confirmed in the Methodist Church.  He attended a rural school until the family moved into Drayton.  Richard graduated from Drayton High School in 1964.  He was an the US Army, serving two tours of duty in Vietnam.  On October 2,  1971 he married Shirley Orsund of Grafton, North Dakota.  They spent their married life in the Drayton area where they raised their three sons, Chris, Kevin and Tyler.  He worked at American Chrystal Sugar Company of Drayton for many years.  He also farmed with his father and later with his son, Chris.  His winter "occupation" was ice fishing which he dearly loved.  A passion he passed on to his sons.  He was  a life member of the Grafton VFW and a member of the Drayton American Legion.  He was preceded in death by both parents; and his brother, Charles.

Richard is survived by his wife, Shirley, Drayton; sons, Chris (Tami), Drayton, Kevin (Janeal), Grafton and Tyler (Deidre), Red Lake Falls, MN; 7 grandchildren, Nick Van Camp and Aly Van Camp, Drayton, Brady Van Camp, Grafton, Tommy Van Camp, Tucker Van Camp, Ethan Weixel and Austin Weixel, Red Lake Falls; brothers, Clinton (Reiko, deceased), Drayton, Paul (Marcia), Maple Plain, MN; a sister-in-law, Sheila Van Camp, Drayton; as well as nieces and nephews.

Memorial services are scheduled for Sunday, August, 6th, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. in Drayton United Methodist Church. Visitation will be held at the church for one hour prior to the service. Military honors will be accorded by the Drayton American Legion and the North Dakota National Guard.
