Richard James Bieganski, age 73, of Drayton, ND, passed away on Friday, February 13, 2026. Richard was a gentle soul, and he will be missed by many.

Richard was born in Drayton, the son of Stanley and Elphie Bieganski. After graduating from high school in 1970, he worked at the American Crystal Sugar Plant until 1993. Then he found such enjoyment working for the Drayton School District.

Richard loved spending time outdoors. He would spend days fishing the Red River for catfish. He loved gardening, biking, traveling adventures, and visiting with friends and family!

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Elphie and Stanley; a sister, JoAnn, and her husband, Arnie Altendorf; brother-in-law, James Seifert; sister-in-law, Charlotte Bieganski; and nephew, Glenn Bieganski

He is survived by his brother, Arlen Bieganski; his sister, Charlene Seifert; and his nieces and nephews, Deborah Bieganski, Mark (Connie) Altendorf, Kimberly (Scott) Walters, Jeff Seifert, and Kristin Seifert.

Richard was a member of Drayton Lutheran Church. His service will be held at the church on Thursday, February 19 at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be held at the church for an hour before the service. A luncheon will follow. Interment will be at a later date in Skjeberg Lutheran Cemetery. Arrangements by Austin Funeral Home, Drayton, ND.
