Obituary

Raymond H. Clinton, age 84 of rural Lancaster, MN passed away Friday January 24, 2014 at Kittson Memorial Nursing Home in Hallock, MN. Raymond Clinton the son of Laura and Herbert Clinton was born September 7, 1929 in St. Vincent Township. Raymond attended the Lindquist country school in McKinley Township through the 8th grade. He served two years in the Marine Corp. from 1952 to 1954. Raymond married Marilyn Ruth Coffield on December 3, 1954. They lived on the family farm in rural Lancaster where they raised six children. Raymond worked as a logger and heavy equipment operator. Together he and Marilyn raised beef cattle and traded horses. Raymond was an avid outdoorsman; trapping, hunting and fishing. He was a member of the American Legion and served on the McKinley Township board. Raymond loved to spend time with his children and grandchildren and could always coerce someone into making a pot of coffee and putting out cookies. Raymond is survived by three daughters Ruth Ann (Bill) Foley, Graceville, MN, Nancy (Bob) Anderson Hallock, MN, Cindy (Kelly) Lofberg Hallock, MN, two sons Gene (Paula) Halma, MN and Jonathon (Jackie) Gilbert, MN, Sixteen grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren, two step grandchildren and three step great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Herbert and Laura, wife Marilyn, a son Faron, brothers Collins and Earl and infant sister Viola. Memorial services are scheduled for Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the Lancaster Community Center, Lancaster. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service at the center. Pastor Kathy Levenhagen, presiding; special music, Faye Potrament, Dan Vagle and Erik Finney. Honorary Pallbearers will be Roger Anderson, Robert Farbo, Dennis Kinkaid, Edmond Koep, Dennis Lindquist, Richard Nicholson and John Peters. A flag presentation will be made by Robert Cameron, veterans service officer.
