Pieter Andries Van Wyk of St. Vincent, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on November 7, 2025. Pieter was born to Willhelm and Petronella (Du Toit) Van Wyk on March 1, 1943, in Harrismith, South Africa. Pieter married the love of his life Wilma on December 18, 1971. They enjoyed almost 55 years of happiness together.  Pieter held many roles during his lifetime, his most treasured being the director of the Harrismith Country Club. He was also a business owner and city auditor during his career.

Pieter enjoyed a few years of retirement before embarking on a new journey, one where he emigrated to the United States. Pieter moved to the United States in 2018 and was finally able to be near his daughter and her family. During his time in the United States, Pieter was a part time employee at Duty Free Americas. When he wasn't working, you could often find him practicing music with his guitar, playing golf, reading his bible, or partaking in projects around the house. Pieter was an avid golfer; he also loved to participate in anything musical. Pieter took part in several church services by singing with his guitar or playing with other church members. Pieter had a musical gift and loved using it to serve the Lord. Pieter enjoyed singing and could often be heard singing around the house while working on something.  Pieter loved to do assorted wood projects; he did several projects both in his own home as well as helping family members and friends with projects around their homes. Pieter also loved anything outside; he enjoyed working outside trimming trees and ensuring his yard was kept neat and tidy.

Pieter was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and will be missed by many.  Pieter is survived by his loving wife, Wilma; daughter, Ronessa (Theuns) Steyn; son, Willhelm Van Wyk; brother, Willhelm Van Wyk (Nanda Du Toit); grandchildren, Daniella and LaRochel; and several nieces and nephews  and great nieces and nephews.

Pieter was preceded in death by his parents, Willhelm and Petronella (Du Toit) Van Wyk; mother-and father-in-law, Johannes and Louisa Ellis; and sister-in-law, Estelle Van Wyk.

A private family funeral service is scheduled for Friday, December 5th, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Austin Funeral Home in Hallock.
