Patricia "Pat" Romans, 73, of Hallock MN, passed away, September 8,2012, at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND. She was surrounded by her family when she went home to the Lord. She was born in Fargo, ND on July 27th 1939 to Earl and Frances (McLaren) Hoffa. Her mother passed away when Pat was four years old. She was taken in by her aunt and uncle, Gina and Bill McLaren, whom she called "Momma" and "Daddy Bill". Gina passed away when Pat was ten years old. Pat married Ralph Embury July 14th, 1956 in Fargo, ND, where they also made their home. Together, they had two boys, Ralph "Rusty" and Michael. After they divorced, Pat and her sons moved to Williston, ND. In 1962, Pat married Dale Romans and then had three children together: Dawn, Dale Patrick, and Christi Jo. Pat worked much of her adult life at Wisco in Williston. After working at Wisco for over thirty years, Pat retired in 2011. She then moved to Hallock, MN to retire to small town living. During her years on earth, Pat enjoyed knitting, puzzles, and being an active member of Our Redeemer's Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday school. Her children often joke that they never missed a day of Sunday school their entire lives. Pat got great joy from gardening and sharing the fruits of her labor with others. Above all, Pat loved her family. She was a pillar of strength and wisdom and spoke of her children and grandchildren with great love. She is survived by her children: Rusty Romans, Mike (Shelly) Romans, Dawn (Mike) Muessman, Dale Patrick Romans, and Christi Jo (Malcolm) Carv; twelve grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. She is also survived by siblings: Marilyn (Harold) Calvert, Joyce (Tom) Scanlan, and Kenny (Marilyn) Hoffa. Preceding her in death are her parents, Earl and Frances Hoffa, brother Allen Hoffa, and her husband Dale Romans. Her funeral will be held on Thursday, September 13th, 2012 at 4:00 p.m. in the Austin Funeral Home in Hallock, MN.
