Myron Jans, Sr. 65, of Hallock, Minnesota passed away with his family at his side at Kittson Memorial Healthcare Center in Hallock on Friday, November 10, 2017.

Myron Loren Jans was born March 9, 1952 in Harvey, North Dakota to Edwin and Anne (Schuh) Jans.  The family lived near Anamoose, North Dakota where Myron attended country school through the 3rd grade and later transferred to   Anamoose Public School.  His family moved to rural Harvey in 1964 and he finished his education there.  On August 6, 1983 he was united in marriage to Joyce Keller.  They lived on the family farm until moving to Lancaster in 1991.  In 2002 they moved to Hallock.  Myron worked for several farmers in the Harvey area while growing up.  He later worked for Faul Manufacturing, Porter Brothers in Harvey and Minot, North Dakota and Beeter Farm and Construction before moving to Minnesota.  Myron worked for Grunig Administration and Hanson Manufacturing until he became disabled in 1996. Myron enjoyed spending time with his family especially his five grandchildren that he loved so dearly.  He also loved to take his family hunting and fishing.

Myron is survived by his wife, Joyce; sons, Myron (Tina), Carrington, ND, Eddy of Hallock; daughters, Judy, Hallock, Laura and Anna, both of East Grand Forks;  grandchildren, Lilly and Lila Jans, Bowe Jans, Kanin and Korbyn Zieman; his mother-in-law, Janice Keller, Harvey, North Dakota; a sister-in-law and brothers-in-law; as well as nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Judy Dauphanies and Lorie Schneider.

Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. in Austin Funeral Chapel, Hallock. Rev. Galen Nordin, presiding Visitation will be held at the funeral chapel beginning at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. There will also be a service at Hertz Funeral Home in Harvey on Friday at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Phil Leer, presiding.
