Myles Johnson, 61, a lifelong Hallock, Minnesota resident, passed early Wednesday morning, August 8th, 2012 at Kittson Memorial Healthcare Center in Hallock. Myles Randall Johnson was born to Cecil and Evelyn (Kruse) Johnson on February 10, 1951 at Hallock. He was a 1969 graduate of Hallock High School. On September 4, 1971 he married the love of his life, Pam Pearson at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Hallock. Myles started with the city of Hallock on September 15, 1971 and was currently the city superintendent, a position he held for many years. Myles was a volunteer fireman for over 10 years; a member of the Hallock Lions Club; a member of the Hallock Eagles; served on the arena board and coached youth hockey for many years. Myles enjoyed fishing, golfing and was especially talented at woodworking, and loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Pam; a son, Jason (Melissa) Johnson, Grand Forks, ND; a daughter, Amanda (Matthew) Chase, Carver, MN; five grandchildren, Tyler, Megan, Tate, Peyton and Brianna; a brother, Brian (Sally) Johnson, Minnetonka, MN and a sister, Julie (Dennis) Matula in Florida; as well as nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Kurt. Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, August 13th, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. in Grace Lutheran Church, Hallock. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Hallock. Rev. Frank Johnson, presiding; Renee Wahl, organist and Mark Holman, soloist. Honorary casket bearers will be Myles' grandchildren. Casket bearers will be Harley Olson, Tom Klegstad, Troy Vagle, Hank Noel, Scott Flatland, Curtis Forfang and Don Kroll. There will be a visitation at the Austin Funeral Home in Hallock on Sunday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m.
