Milton Ingvald Steenson, age 98 of Plymouth, MN passed away on Sept 28, 2013. Milt was born in Drayton, ND on Sept 6, 1915 where he graduated from High School in 1933. He was married to Gertrude (Carpenter) Torrey at Baudette, MN in 1970. Following their marriage, he and Gertie made their home in Drayton where Milt was a long-time employee of Raney Hardware before his retirement in 1977. Milt had many interests which included fishing, curling, cross country skiing, riding his snowmobile, walking and especially riding his bicycle. For the past 12 years, Milt lived at St Benedict's Court and Village in Monticello, MN where he will be missed by many friends and staff. Preceded in death by wife, Gertie; his parents, Ingvald and Ida (Gaede) Steenson; sisters Ann Larson, Meta Marie Johnson and Verna Phibbs. Survived by stepsons Jim (Kathy) Torrey of Eugene, OR; Gene (Mary Beth) Torrey of Plymouth, MN; and Tom (Beth) Torrey of Coal Valley, IL; nieces (Sharon, Shirley, Vicki, Barbara and Earlene) and nephews (Howard and Milton), many grandchildren, several great-grandchildren as well as great-great-grandchildren. A memorial service for Milton Steenson will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday October 19th at Drayton Lutheran Church, Drayton ND. Rev. Kristen Schwan, presiding; Marlys Nelson, organist and Barb Visness, soloist. Service at church with a light lunch to follow. Private interment at St Edward's Cemetery. Memorials preferred to donor's favorite charity.
