Melba Benson, 92, of Lake Bronson, Minnesota passed away at her home on Sunday, May 28, 2017.  Melba Phyllis Larson was born July 18, 1924 at Lake Bronson to Peter J. and Selma (Johnson) Larson. She grew up in Lake Bronson and was a 1942 graduate of Lake Bronson High School. On April 9, 1944 she married Raymond Anderberg.  Melba worked at the Farmers Store in Lake Bronson for several years. She moved to St. Paul, Minnesota and worked at UniVac a short time before returning to Lake Bronson. On May 30, 1970 she married Rolland Benson at Elbow Lake, Minnesota. Melba drove bus for the DAC, a job she thoroughly enjoyed. She also worked in home healthcare and was a foster parent for many years.  Melba was a member of Zion Lutheran Church.

Family members include a daughter, Sharon (Roger) Thompson of Lake Bronson; sons,  Alan  Anderberg of Grand Rapids, MN and Ronald Anderberg of Lake Bronson; grandchildren, Jennifer (Daryl) Klegstad,  Matthew (Missy) Thompson, Zachary (Kari) Anderberg, Lindsey Hansen and Andrew Miller; great grandchildren, Nathaniel, Elisia, Tucker, Dracen, Sorin, Kieron, Madison, McKenzie, Keaton, Jaxon and Eli; as well as nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Rolland; three sisters, Delpha Nyflot, Elaine Anderson and infant sister, Ruby; 3 brothers, Tony, Ferdie and Wally; a grandson, Scott and a daughter-in-law, Gloria.

Memorial services are scheduled for Friday, June 2, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in Zion Lutheran Church, Lake Bronson. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service. Austin Funeral Chapel, Hallock. Pastor Kathy Levenhagen presiding; Corienne Jacobson, organist; special music Jaxon and Eli Klegstad. Honorary pall bearers will be all of Melba's grandchildren and great grandchildren.
