Mary Soberaski, 99, of Hallock, Minnesota passed away at Kittson Memorial Healthcare Center in Hallock on Friday, January 29, 2016. Mary Smidt was born August 25, 1916 in Tolstoy, Manitoba, Canada to Adolph and Valerie Smidt.  She grew up in Manitoba and attended school there. On September 17, 1936 she was united in marriage to Harry Soberaski. The couple settled in Hallock where they ran Soberaski Trucking until Harry's death in 1993.  Mary also worked at the Corner Cafe, the Sterling Store and Muriel's.  Mary enjoyed crocheting, knitting, quilting and baking.  She won many ribbons at the county fair for her work.  She had a large doll collection and displayed them throughout her home.  Mary would be busy in the summer with her large garden, enjoying the outdoors and  taking  long walks. Mary's family was the most important thing in her life and she would do anything for them. She will be lovingly missed.

Left to mourn her passing are a granddaughter, Shari (Paul Carlson) Reynolds, Grand Forks; three grandsons, Justin Soberaski, Bismarck, Ryan (Kimberly) Soberaski, Hallock and Jay Soberaski, Stephen;  a great grandson, Vance Soberaski; three great granddaughters, Jessica Riopelle, Alissa Riopelle and Taylor Reynolds; two great great granddaughters, Zoey and Aria; two brothers, William (Antoinette) Smidt, Steinbach, Manitoba and Adolphe (Gail) Smidt, Winnipeg; two sisters, Francis Jaculak, Winnipeg and Victoria Shambroch, Winnipeg; two daughters-in-law, Joan and Mary Jo; as well as nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harry; sons, Harold and Rodney; a brother, Leon and sisters, Emilie Blazejewski and Tillie Schneider.  May God bless the memory of Mary Soberaski.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, February 4th at 2:00 p.m. in St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Hallock. Visitation will begin at 12:30 p.m. in the church with a rosary service at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Hallock. Fr. Craig Vosek, presiding; Sharlene Klegstad, organist. Honorary casket bearers will be Mary's great and great great grandchildren. Casket bearers will be Ryan Soberaski, Justin Soberaski, Jay Soberaski, Tony Blaze, Robert Bienek and Paul Carlson.
