Joan Craigmile, 85, of Hallock, Minnesota passed away at Kittson Memorial Healthcare Center on Saturday, September 20, 2014. Mary Joan Blide was born June 1, 1929 at Hallock to Erhard and Clara (Olen) Blide. She grew up on the family farm and was a 1947 graduate of Hallock High School. On December 19th, 1948 she married Milton "Pete" Craigmile at her parent's home near Hallock. The couple farmed for several years before Pete took a job with the Minnesota State Highway Department. Joan was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, the Ladies Aid and the quilting group there. She was also a member of the Two River Homemakers, Sewing Club and the Red Hat Society. Pete and Joan entered the nursing home together in March of 2010. Pete died on May 21, 2010. Joan is survived by three children, Russ (Ann) Craigmile, Alexandria, MN, Tom (Donna) Craigmile, East Grand Forks, MN and Carol (Jack) Bailey, Lincoln, CA; grandchildren, Jason Bailey, Jennifer Koenig, Marc and Reid Craigmile, Brett and Rachelle Craigmile; great grandchildren, Megan, Brandon, Jasmine, Jacob, Ella, Scott, Cannon, Sally, Reice and Libby. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, September 26th, at 11:00 a.m. in Grace Lutheran Church, Hallock. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Rev. Frank Johnson, presiding; Renee Wahl, special music. Honorary casket bearers will be Joan's grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Austin Funeral Home at Hallock with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m.
