Marvin Wilson, 89, a lifelong Joliette, North Dakota farmer passed away at Wedgewood Manor in Cavalier on Monday, May 4, 2015. Marvin William Wilson was born February 2, 1926 at Bowesmont, North Dakota, the son of Albert and Alma (Sandberg) Wilson. He attended school in Bowesmont and graduated from high school there in 1944. On October 29, 1947 he was united in marriage to Maxine Hills at Bowesmont. They've made their home in Joliette for over 67 years. In addition to farming, Marvin worked as a handy man and enjoyed woodworking. He was an avid bowler and enjoyed deer hunting with his buddies every fall. Marvin was a member of the Pioneer United Methodist Church at Pembina. Marvin is survived by his wife, Maxine; sons, Dwight (Deb) Wilson, Joliette and Tim Wilson, Rocky Point, Lake of the Woods; seven grandchildren, Darwin, Dusty, Douglas, Amanda, Kyle, Holly (Kaltenberg) and Cody Wilson; 13 great grandchildren; brothers, Raymond (Zonia) Wilson, Drayton and Al (Veronica) Wilson, Baudette, MN; as well as nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Debra; sister, Jean and brother, Vernon. Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, May 11, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in the Pioneer United Methodist Church, Pembina. Interment will be in Bowesmont Cemetery, Bowesmont, North Dakota. Rev. Gary Johnson, presiding; Doug Finney, soloist and Betty Irving, organist. Casket bearers will be Marvin's grandchildren. Honorary casket bearers will be all of his deer hunting buddies. Visitation will be held at the church on Sunday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m.
