Mark Kreklau, 70, of Drayton, North Dakota passed away on Wednesday, June 13th, 2012 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks. Mark was born October 2, 1941 at Langdon, North Dakota to Arnold and Dorothy (Warwick) Kreklau. He was part of the Alsen, North Dakota basketball team that still holds the longest high school winning record in North Dakota and graduated Alsen High School in 1959. He married Kay Berdahl September 2, 1972. Mark farmed, owned Montgomery Wards Catalog Store in Langdon; was a negotiator for North Dakota Ag Mediation Program and owned Ag Negotiating and Consulting. In 1998 he joined KodaBank, Drayton, North Dakota and was a currently a vice president there. Mark's most cherished time was spent with family, friends, fishing and of course following Sioux Hockey. He was truly a people person and loved his work and the staff at KodaBank. Mark was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Drayton, where he was always active in church work. He was chairman of the congregation at Zion Lutheran Church in Munich, North Dakota, for many years; an elder at Trinity Lutheran Church in Drayton at the time of his death; and served three terms as a member of the North Dakota District Board of Directors of The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod (LCMS). Family members include his wife, Kay; children, Rennie (Davis Woinarowicz) Hallstrom, Drayton, Lisa (Deon) Anderson, Grafton, Christopher Kreklau, Portal, ND, Nicole Larson, Drayton and Leah (Tim) Ososki, Drayton; grandchildren, Ana (Christoph) Tobiaz, Lindsay (Steve) Wold, Kaila (Dave) DiNalo, Alexis Anne Kreklau, Trevor Michael Kreklau, great grandchildren, Warren Tobiaz and Owen Tobiaz; a brother, Paul Kreklau, Columbus, OH; and mother-in-law, Grace Berdahl, Park River, ND. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arnold and Dorothy; a daughter, Tonia Noel Kreklau; a granddaughter, Addison Grace Kreklau; and a sister-inlaw, Alice Kreklau. Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, June 18th at 11:00 a.m. in Immanuel Lutheran Church 1710 Cherry Street in Grand Forks. Interment will be held at 3:00 p.m. Monday in the Alsen Cemetery, Alsen, North Dakota. Rev. Bernhard Seter, Rev. Craig Fenske and Rev. Jonathan Buescher, presiding; Sheila Weinlaeder, organist. Casket bearers will be Peter Anderson, Rob Boll, Bruce Henschel, Jonathan Wilson, Thomas Schuster, Ron Ophaug, Gay Jensen and Cole Anderson. Visitation will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Drayton on Sunday June 17th from 4 to 6 p.m. with a prayer service at 6:00 p.m. and for one hour before the service on Monday. After the burial there will be a fellowship time at Zion Lutheran Church, Munich, North Dakota. Memorials are preferred to the Lutheran Women's Missionary League and the Hospice of North Dakota.
