Obituary

Surrounded by family members, Marjorie Lou Stromberg passed peacefully from this life and into the arms of her Eternal Father at Kittson Memorial Healthcare Center on Saturday, February 22, 2014. Marge was born on March 13, 1932 in Collis, Minnesota to Max and Irene (Sieber) Walz and was baptized into the Lutheran church. As a teenager she and her family moved to Page, North Dakota where she graduated from high school. After high school Marge took a job at the grain elevator in the nearby village of Hope where she met the love of her life, Lewis D. Stromberg. They were joined in marriage on August 24, 1951 and enjoyed 61 years of life together until Lewis passed away on March 5, 2013. Marge and Lewis and their family moved to Kennedy, Minnesota in 1960 where Lew was employed as a teacher. Marge worked at various jobs, including the Kennedy Star News and Petersburg Chevrolet, but mainly she chose to spend her time as the mother of their five children. Marge was a member of Maria Lutheran Church in Kennedy and was active as a Church teller, a member of the Ladies Circle, and a member of the quilting group. Marge wanted everyone to know that it wasn't the cigarettes that got her! Marge enjoyed needlework, puzzles, quilting, bridge with her bridge group, reading, golf, "shopping" with Lewis, and spending time with her family. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandma and great-grandma. Marge is survived by four daughters and one son; Beth (Mark) Kroulik of Stephen; Joan (David) Anderson of Roseau; Jean (Greg) Bogestad of Donaldson; Kitty Stromberg, Argyle and Kory (Jin) Stromberg of Jacksonville Florida; 10 Grandchildren;12 Great Grandchildren; a brother William Walz, Graceville, Mn. and two sisters; Betty (Gordon) Jacobs, Wheaton, Mn and Delores Holden, Page, ND. Marge was preceded in death by her husband Lewis; her parents and brothers Leonard and Harold. Memorial Services are scheduled for Saturday March 1st, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. in Maria Lutheran Church, Kennedy, Minnesota. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
