Magnus Gudmundson, 77, of Hallock, Minnesota passed away at Kittson Memorial Healthcare Center in Hallock on Sunday, April 7th, 2013. Magnus was born at home in Halma, Minnesota on March 31, 1936 to Peter and Bevena (Boyd) Gudmundson. He was a 1954 graduate of Hallock High School. On April 20th, 1968 he was united in marriage to Phyllis Pearson at Warren, Minnesota. Magnus worked for Grant Bothum and several other area farms. He also worked for a short time at Soo Line Railroad, Arctic Cat in Karlstad and retired from American Crystal Sugar Company after 27 years of service. Magnus entered the healthcare center in September of 2010. Family members include his wife, Phyllis; a daughter, Ann Marie Hampton, Springfield, MO; a son, Peter (Colleen Sauve) Gudmundson, Red Lake Falls, MN; three grandchildren, LoveLynn, Heaven Leigh and Star; and a brother, Richard of Lake Bronson. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, April 11, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in Zion Lutheran Church, Lake Bronson, Minnesota. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Lake Bronson. Visitation will be held at the church for one hour prior to the funeral service on Thursday. Pastor Kathy Levenhagen, presiding; Lenore Olson, organist and Galen Nordin, soloist. Casket bearers will be Roman Gudmundson, Jr., James Ristad, Todd Ehrenstrom and Richard Levenhagen.
