Obituary

Lucille Younggren, 88, a lifelong Hallock resident, passed away January 19, 2018 at the Alexandria Memory Care Unit in Alexandria, Minnesota.

Lucille Marie was born November 4, 1929 the first child of Levi and Margaret (Balderston) Diamond of rural Humboldt.  She attended the Humboldt school and later graduated from Hallock High School in 1948. Lucille was united in marriage to Harold Younggren December 29, 1948. She first met Harold while waitressing at Taft's Café when he and his hockey buddies would stop by after practice.  Harold and Lucille lived on his parents farm in North Red River Township until 1950.  They moved to a farm northwest of Hallock in Hallock Township where they raised their seven children and lived their entire lives.  Harold passed away August 16, 2009.

Without a doubt, Lucille's passion was her family.
She loved them dearly! She was a master at being a wife and mother and could perform all the duties that farm life demanded.  Lucille loved visits from her 17 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren.  Lucille was a fantastic cook and truly enjoyed caring for her home.  She was a lifelong member of the Presbyterian Church where she served on numerous committees.  Lucille worked as a nurses aid at the Hallock Hospital and also as a certified EMT.  She was a member of the Hallock Curling Club, a 4-H Club leader, a Cub Scout Den Mother, played Women's League softball and was a member of the Northcote Ladies Aid and sewing club. She rarely missed attending her children's concerts or sporting events. Lucille had an endless energy for life that was undeniable!
