Lorraine Johnston, 66, of Drayton, North Dakota passed away Thursday, April 26, 2018 at Unity Hospital in Grafton, North Dakota.

Lorraine Samson was born May 25, 1951 to Barney and Lillia (Olafson) Samson in Grafton, North Dakota and grew up at Adams, North Dakota.  Lorraine attended school in Park River.  On September 10, 1970 she was united in marriage to Dale Johnston in Plentywood, Montana.  Early in 1972 they settled in Drayton.  Lorraine worked the Grafton State School and later as a security guard at American Crystal Sugar Company in Drayton.  She retired at the age of 48 because of failing health.  She was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Drayton.

Lorraine is survived by her husband, Dale; children, Brian (Angela Jerome) Johnston, Drayton; Loretta (Mike) Bjornstad, Drayton and Gale (Ronnie Youmand) Johnston, Drayton; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; a sister Elaine (Rodney) Tankey, Fordville, ND.  She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Kevin and a granddaughter, Claire.

Memorial services are scheduled for Thursday, May 17, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the Assembly of God Church in Drayton.  Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service. Rev. Leroy Aufenkamp, presiding.
