Lorna J. Anderson, 71, of Hallock, Minnesota passed away at Kittson Memorial Healthcare Center in Hallock on Saturday, June 2, 2012. Lorna Krogstad was born at Crookston, Minnesota on March 30, 1941 to Alfred and Frances (Durkin) Krogstad. Her father passed away when she was two years old and she was adopted by Theodore M. Carlson. Lorna grew up in Hallock and graduated from high school there in 1959. She attended Robinson's School of Beauty Culture in Minneapolis. After completing her education she opened the Leading Lady Salon in Hallock. On August 4, 1972 she married Robert R. Anderson at Hallock. Lorna worked for many years as a beautician and operated several other businesses in Hallock. She worked at Orleans Grain, UPS in Pembina and the medical records department at Kittson Memorial Hospital. Lorna was a member of Grace Lutheran Church. She served as vice president of the Minnesota State Hairdressers Association and was convention chairman in 1969. Lorna was a member of the National Decorative Painters Association, Artists Unlimited, Prairie Hill Art Gallery of Cavalier and the Hallock Chamber of Commerce. Family members include her husband, Robert R. Anderson; son, Shawn (Christy) Anderson, Hallock; grandsons, Bobby Anderson, Grand Forks, ND and Josh Anderson, West Fargo; a sister, Karen (Robert) Isaacson, Hallock and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church at Hallock. Interment will be in Riverview Memorial Garden Cemetery, Lancaster, Minnesota. Visitation will be held on Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. in the Austin Funeral Home, Hallock. Rev. Melodi Hagen, presiding; Renee Wahl, organist, Donald and Kris Thorlacius, duet. Casket bearers will be Jon Blomquist, Paul Blomquist, Kevin Waller, Scott Nelson, Bryan Younggren and Theuns Steyn.
