Obituary

July 19,2013, 85-year-old Lois Clark was welcomed with open arms by our Heavenly Father into His Kingdom. She was greeted there by her late husband James Clark (1998), and their sons Greg (2000) and Brad (2004), along with her sisters, brothers and parents. Lois Vernita Stewart was born on October 5, 1927 to Aneata (Diamond) and Roy Stewart on a farm near Humboldt, Minnesota. She attended elementary school in Humboldt and graduated salutatorian of her Hallock High School class of 1945. She then began her career at the Kittson County FMHA office. Lois married her true love, Jim Clark on July 27, 1947. They welcomed two sons and two daughters into this world, and celebrated over 50 years of marriage together. After the wedding, she started to work for the Farmers State Bank of Stephen and continued in the banking business for the next 52 years, retiring in December 1999. She served as president of the Bank Administration Institute. Lois' caring nature and patience was a true inspiration. She was active at First Lutheran Church, Athena Club, Birthday Club and the Order of the Eastern Star. She was Stephen's Outstanding Senior Citizen in 2000, Marshall County Outstanding Senior Citizen in 2000, and represented Marshall County at the Minnesota State Fair. She had been a resident for the past 9 months at the Tamarac Senior Living Center in Stephen, Minnesota where her body declined, but her spirit did not. Lois was a special lady to a countless number of people and her kind, gentle ways touched many. Lois is survived by daughters, Cindy (Bruce) Bondy, Thief River Falls, MN; and Jami (Jeff) Nelson, Stephen, MN; daughter-in-laws, Deb Clark, Fargo, ND; and Cathy Clark Neuman, Fergus Falls, MN; ten grandchildren; Megan (Mark) Neubauer, Geneva (Paul) Noah, Christopher (Lindsey) Clark, Josh (Lindsay) Bondy, Chelsey Clark, Katelyn (Joe) Schuster, Jessica (Matt) Woinarowicz, Gannon Nelson, Laine Clark, and Moriah Nelson; twelve great-grandchildren; Emma, Aubrey, Aiden, Sophia, Bergen, Gianna, Jude, Tally, Valerie, Kingdon, Payton, and Landon. She is also survived by several dear nieces and nephews. Lois was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James; sons, Greg and Brad; sisters, Amelia Streed, LaVerne Swan, and infant sister, Jessica; and brothers, Glenn, Hilson, Donald, and Roy Jr. Funeral services will be Monday, July 22, 2013 at 2p.m. at First Lutheran Church, Stephen, MN. Interment will be in the Stephen City Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church for one hour prior to the funeral service. Pastor Michael Schendel presiding; Marilyn Hanson, organist. Sue Albrecht, Berney Streed and Dan Streed, trio. Casket bearers: Berney Streed, Dan Streed, Roy Stewart, Jim Stewart, Garylle Stewart, and Shane Stewart.
