Lois Ann Christopherson 81 of Lancaster, Minnesota passed away on December 15, 2015 at the Kittson Memorial Health Care Center in Hallock, Minnesota. Lois was born Arpril 9, 1934 to Roland and Kathleen (Monahan) Dexter of Orleans, Minnesota. She attended Rose Country School through the 8th grade and graduated from Lancaster High School in 1952.
Lois married Arden Christopherson October 2, 1952. They lived and farmed
in Granville township on the original Christopherson farmstead until
they moved into Lancaster in 2004.
Lois worked hard during her entire life. She was involved with all
aspects of the field work, milking cows and keeping the farm books. She
also worked as a bookkeeper at the Lancaster Creamery and then at the
Hallock Clinic for Dr. Larter for many years.
Flowers, shopping, French vanilla cappuccino, ice cream cones and her
cell phone were a few of her favorite things. She enjoyed trips to
Chicago, Louisiana, Oregon and Alaska to visit family and friends. Most
of all she loved her family and her precious dog, Fergie.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Arden; daughter, Beth (Tom)
Woodard, Fargo, ND; son, Bryce (Cindy) Christopherson, Lancaster;
grandchildren, Haley (Charles) Meek, Jayne (Christopher) Erwin, Ben
Christopherson and Anna Christopherson; a sister, Shirley Buckley,
Downers Grove, IL; brother, Dan (Ann) Dexter, West Monroe, LA;
sister-in-law, Pauline Christopherson, Lancaster and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Becky Christopherson in 2003;
parents; mother-in-law, Frida Christopherson; sister snd brother-in-law,
Mary Loretta and Floyd Arin; and brother-in-law, Charles Christopherson.
Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, December 21, 2015 at 11:00
a.m. in Sion Lutheran Church, Lancaster. Interment will be in Riverview
Memorial Garden Cemetery, Lancaster. Rev. Melodi Hagen, presiding; Peggy
Wilebski, organist; Faye Potrament, Galen and Julie Nordin, trio.
Honorary casket bearers will be the staff of Kittson Memorial Nursing
Home, Greg Peterson, Colette Baldwin and Debbie Simons. Casket bearers
will be Haley Meek, Jayne Erwin, Ben Christopherson, Anna Christopherson,
Merle Arin, Brad Arin and Byron Christopherson. Visitation will be held
at Austin Funeral Chapel in Hallock on Sunday from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m.
with a prayer service at 6:00 and at the church for one hour prior to
the funeral service.
