Lloyd J. Christenson, 104, of Parkwood Senior Living, Grand Forks, North Dakota passed away On April 20, 2022.

Lloyd was born January 16, 1918 in Bowesmont, North Dakota the son of the late Matilda and Henry Christenson. He graduated from Bowesmont High School in 1936 and from North Dakota State Agricultural College (NDSU) with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture in 1941. Following graduation, he served in the U.S. Army Air Corp (Air Force) and was stationed in several locations.

On June 28, 1951, Lloyd was united in marriage to Zona Patterson. Lloyd successfully farmed for many years in the Bowesmont area. Upon retirement, he and Zona enjoyed many winters in Mesa, Arizona. Lloyd served on the Drayton School Board and Bowesmont Methodist Church Board.

Lloyd is survived by a daughter, Macy Christenson of Marana, AZ; a son and daughter-in-law, Curtis and Pamela Christenson; three married grandchildren, Lindsey (Casey) Fering, Reid (Lisa) Christenson and Brett (Kallie) Christenson, all in the Drayton area. Also surviving are eight great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Zona; a daughter, Gwen; son-in-law, Bruce; and all of his siblings.

Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, April 28, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. in Drayton United Methodist Church. Visitation will be held at the church for one hour prior to the service.
