Leonard Renville, 78, of Hallock, Minnesota passed away at his home early Thursday morning, August 9th, 2012. Leonard was born at Orleans, Minnesota on August 26, 1933, the son of Frank and Hattie (Steinert) Renville. He was baptized in the Catholic faith and attended country school. On August 1, 1953 he married Elaine Westling at Hallock. Leonard did construction in the area until he started at Glidden Dairy. In 1972 he and Elaine bought the dairy and changed the name to Renville Dairy. Leonard also helped Elaine deliver the Grand Forks Herald in Hallock for 14 years. He was a member of the Hallock Eagles. Family members include his wife, Elaine; a son, Allen (Kay) Renville, Evansville, MN; six daughters, Holly Taylor (Pat Mueller), Detroit Lakes, MN, Terry (Brad) Steen, Detroit Lakes, Betty St. Yves (Terry Hager), Dickinson, ND, Sandy (Randy) Nordstrom, Bathgate, ND, Shelley Rowley (Milt Pazdernik), Euclid, MN and Jody (Charles) Schmidt, Felton, MN; 14 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; three brothers, Clarence (Elayne) Renville, Lancaster, MN, Thomas (Kerry) Renville, Underwood, MN and Rick (Diane) Renville, St. Paul, MN; four sisters, Lucille Smolak, Rosemount, MN, Eva (Milo) Westling, Inver Grove Heights, MN, Sarah (Ray) Kaudy, St. Paul, MN and Mary (Merlin) Olson, Hallock,MN; family friend, Duane St. Yves, Grand Forks, ND; and many nieces and nephews. Leonard was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Lewis. Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, August 13th, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Hallock. Interment will be in Union Liberty Cemetery, rural Hallock. Rev. William DeCrans, presiding; Sharlene Klegstad, organist. Casket bearers will be Leonard's grandsons. Visitation will be held at St. Patrick's on Sunday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m.; Galen Nordin will provide special music. The Austin Funeral Home of Hallock is in charge of arrangements.
