Lawrence "Buzz" Tom Barrett died peacefully in his sleep on October 2, 2016. Buzz, the youngest child of Fred M. and Sadie (Austin) Barrett, was born on September 4, 1929, in East Grand Forks MN. He married Blanche (Stallmo) on January 10, 1948. He drove truck before moving with his family to Warroad, MN in 1962 to farm. Buzz loved to hunt and fish, including taking many trips to Montana and Canada. Buzz and Blanche enjoyed travelling to visit family and friends. They moved to Fisher, MN in 1999. In addition to hunting and fishing, Buzz enjoyed trapping, gardening and bird watching.

Survived by his children: Roger, Grand Forks, ND; Duane (Kathy), Wasilla, Alaska; Vernon (Kathy), Middle River, MN; Sharon, East Grand Forks, MN; Brenda Ficklin, East Grand Forks, MN and Teresa (Jeff) Tangen, Gilby, ND. Also survived by 8 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Also surviving are sisters-in-law Toots Barrett, Joyce Barrett and Merna Hill. Preceded in death by his wife Blanche, daughter Carol, son Larry, brothers Richard, Fred R., sisters Clare, Jean, Grace, Francie, and parents.

Services: 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 8, 2016 at Mendenhall Presbyterian Church in East Grand Forks, MN. Visitation: 5 to 7 with a 6:30 prayer service on Friday, October 7, 2016 at the church and one hour before the service. Interment of Buzz and Blanche: Following service and lunch at Nisbet Cemetery in Mallory MN.
