Obituary

Kenneth Snare, 87, of Hallock, Minnesota passed away at Kittson Memorial Hospital in Hallock on Monday, May 27th, 2013. Kenneth was born September 20, 1925 in Greenbush, Minnesota, the son of Mansvil and Marie (Hanson) Snare. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. Kenny attended school in Greenbush and served in the U.S. Army. In 1949 married Dorothy Jacobson. On October 20, 1979 he was united in marriage to Martha "Margie" Norby at Baudette, Minnesota. Kenny worked at Kiene Farms, the Kittson County Highway Department, owned and operated a trash removal service in Hallock and did carpentry and plumbing and heating work. In retirement Kenny ran a courier service for several businesses in Hallock and enjoyed woodworking. Kenny was a longtime member of the Hallock Volunteer Fire Department. Family members include three sons, Doug (Kim) Snare, Moorhead, MN, Ken (Michele) Snare, Rosemont, MN and Greg (Lynette) Snare, Hallock; stepdaughters, Kathy (Steve) Anderson, Dalton, MN and Gloria Norby, Warren, MN; stepsons, Kenneth (Laura) Norby, Pembina, ND and Greg Norby, Hallock; 14 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Margie; two grandsons, Brandon and Matthew; sisters, Cora, Myrtle and Anne; and a brother, Emmett. Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, May 31, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in Maria Lutheran Church at Kennedy, Minnesota. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Hallock. Military honors will be accorded by the Hallock American Legion. Pastor Kathy Levenhagen, presiding; special music will be provided by Charles and Patti Swanson. Honorary casket bearers will be Rick and Peggy Gjovik, Duane Younggren, Robert Pearson and Helen Pearson. Casket bearers will be grandchildren, Jenny, Brandi, TanyaLee, Raymond, Steffen, Trevor, Rachel, Karmon, Mitchell, Anthony, Daniel, Matthew, Michael and Kimberly. Visitation will be held at the church on Thursday evening from 7 to 8 p.m. with a prayer service at 8:00 p.m.
