Katrina Marie Mortenson, 40, passed away March 20, 2014. She was staying at her father's house in Kennedy, MN when a fire broke out and she succumbed to smoke inhalation. Katrina was born in Seattle WA and then moved with her family down to the East Bay area in northern California when she was approximately 3 years of age. She grew up in the towns of Dublin and then Pleasanton CA and later moved down to the South Bay area. She was also a talented artist. Nothing seemed to give her more pleasure than creating a new painting, drawing or other expression of her talents. All who knew her will miss her outgoing spirit and sense of humor. Katrina was an intelligent, kind and beautiful young woman. Katrina is survived by her mother, Christine McCrohan of Dublin, CA and father, Paul Mortenson of Kennedy, MN. She is also survived by a half brother, Rob Graves and family, an aunt, Karen Ward of Seattle WA, a cousin, Jeremy Ward of Seattle WA and by many more relatives and good friends. Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, June 6, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in Red River Lutheran Church, rural Kennedy. Committal services will be held in Red River Cemetery at 1:00 p.m., prior to the funeral service.
