Obituary

Katherine (Kay) Moe, 83, of Hallock, Minnesota, passed away at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks on Thursday September 13, 2012. Katherine Joyce Moe was born June 30th, 1929, in Hampden Township near Northcote, Minnesota, to Charles and Alice (Cameron) Bedard. She graduated from high school at the Northwest School of Agriculture in Crookston, Minnesota in 1946. Katherine married Marlowe Harris Moe on June 13th, 1948, in the Northcote Presbyterian Church. They lived in Thompson Township and farmed until they moved to Hallock in 2004. She was an active member of Northcote and Hallock Presbyterian Churches, their women's organizations, and her local homemaker's club. Kay was a passionate homemaker. The coffee pot was always on, fresh buns, caramel rolls, and cookies were always available, and everyone was welcome in her home. Family and friends who needed assistance were never turned away. She was absolutely devoted to her roles as wife and mother. She is survived by three children, James (Jill) Moe of Lakewood, Colorado, Cynthia Moe-Crist of Arvada, Colorado, and Kenneth (Shelly) Moe of Richfield, Minnesota; one grandson, Jonathan Moe, of Denver, Colorado; sisters-in-law, Katherine Foss of Park Rapids, Minnesota, Vera Moe of East Grand Forks, Minnesota, and Myrtle Branes of Glendale, Arizona, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Marlowe; her parents; sister, Margaret; and four brothers, Riston, Marvin, Willis, and Walter.
