Obituary

Joyce Nordine, 88, of Hallock Minnesota passed away Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at Kittson Memorial Healthcare Center in Hallock.  Joyce Amacher was born to Lawrence and Carrie (Johnson) Amacher on January 28, 1929 in her grandparents home south of Donaldson, Minnesota. Joyce was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Hallock.  She graduated from high school in Stephen, Minnesota.  On June 17, 1947 she was united in marriage to Raymond Nordine at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Donaldson.   Joyce worked as a waitress at Margie's Café in Hallock for many years. She enjoyed playing cards, curling, was a charter member of the Eagles Auxiliary and was active in the Hallock Senior Center.  She received a lifetime achievement award for volunteer service signed by President Obama.

Joyce is survived by three daughters, Cheryl (Dick) Bergeron, Argyle, MN, Joy (Pat) Waddick, Rogers, MN and Tracy (Paul) Morehead, Moorhead, MN; a daughter-in-law, Judy (Vernon) Bahr, Humboldt, MN; seven grandchildren, Michael (Jackie) Bergeron, Stacy (Keith) Szczepanski, Tyler Nordine, Evan Nordine, Jim Waddick, Ann Leuch and Paul Waddick; eight great grandchildren, Kalen, Kyler and Kole Szczepanski, Brooklyn, Payton and Addisyn Bergeron, Parker and Jaxon Leuch; two brothers-in-law; a sister-in-law; and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond; a son, Rick; a grandson, Daniel Bergeron; parents; two sisters, Dolly and Gladys; and numerous brothers and sisters-in-law.

Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, June 9, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in Grace Lutheran Church at Hallock. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Hallock.  Visitation will be held at the church for one hour prior to the service.  Rev. Frank Johnson, presiding; Renee Wahl, organist and Lyndon Johnson, soloist. Casket bearers will be grandsons, Michael, Tyler, Evan, Jim, Paul and great grandson, Kalen.

A very special thank you to her daughter-in-law, Judy, Dan and Diane Younggren, Jim and Virginia Johnson and Carol Dahlman for all the wonderful things you did for Mom that made it possible for her to stay at home for as long as she did.
