Obituary

John "Jack" Stewart, 94, a lifelong Drayton area farmer,  passed away on Monday, June 20, 2016 at the Good Samaritan Society in Park River, North Dakota. John P. Stewart was born in St. Andrews Township near Drayton on January 8, 1922 the son of Herbert A. and Sigrid (Carlson) Stewart.  He attended country school and was raised in the Methodist faith.  On October 27, 1946 Jack was united in marriage to Colleen Roseland in Drayton.  She passed away in 1983.  Jack enjoyed camping, fishing and visiting with family and friends.


He is survived by his children, Jacque Trygstad, Grand Forks, Mike
(Shelly), Grand Forks, Herbert, Drayton, Ann Ihland, Grand Forks and Carl (Kathy Swan) Drayton; grandchildren, Tara, Anthony (Kelly), and Sarah; great grandchildren, Samantha, Jack, Connor, Lilly, Josh, Gavin and Zade; a sister, Jean Larson, Grafton; and brothers, Charles Stewart, Grafton, Robert (Mary Lou) Stewart, Drayton and James (Donna) Stewart, Fargo.


Jack was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Colleen; a grandson,
Scott M. Stewart, a granddaughter, Paula Ihland.


Memorial services are scheduled for Saturday, June 25th at 2:00 p.m. in
Drayton United Methodist Church.  Interment will be in the Drayton City Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church for one hour prior to the service.  Rev. Gary Johnson, presiding; Shirley VanCamp and Karen Schumacher will provide special music. Honorary casket bearers will be Jack's grandchildren and great grandchildren.
