Jodi Noreen
Hanson
Oct 6, 1959 — Sep 8, 2022
Vancouver
With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Jodi Noreen Hanson, age 62, of Vancouver, WA on September 8, 2022 in rural North Dakota.
Jodi was born in Hallock, MN on October 6, 1959 and graduated from Hallock High School in 1978. She went to NDSU in Fargo, ND and from there went on to obtain an MBA and several other degrees in health care and physical fitness. Jodi took great pride in having a long and successful career in senior roles at hospice centers and home health care companies in several different Oregon cities. She said many times that helping patients and families get through difficult times was what she was meant to do in her life.
Jodi described 2022 as being one of her best years when she went into a semi-retirement in Vancouver and could focus on the things she loved most – connecting with friends and family, cooking, helping anyone who needed help, writing music and then posting her latest compositions on-line, mowing the grass, painting, fixing just about anything whether it needed it or not, staying up late to listen to Carole King records, and walking her beloved dogs Gizmo and Sydney. Every person Jodi met was instantly a great friend and boon companion. She will be missed by many and leaves a huge hole in our hearts.
Jodi was proceeded in death by her father, Harris Hanson. She is survived by her mother JoAnn, Hallock, MN; brother Mark, Bowling Green, KY (Eleanor); sister Holly Hanson-Kollar, Tempe, AZ (David); nieces Sue Eggermont, Binford, ND (Leroy and their children Alfred and Alana) and Katrina Largen, Charlotte NC (Jonah); and long-time friends Sheila Waldron and Donna Richter of Vancouver, WA and Elaine Dabrowski, Portland OR, as well as cousins, and other relatives throughout the country.
Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, September 15, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in Grace Lutheran Church, Hallock. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service in the church. Interment will be in Red River Cemetery, rural Hallock. Donations to the The Station Senior Center in Hallock, MN, in lieu of flowers, would be appreciated.
