Jessie Halcrow, age 90, of Drayton, passed away on June 26, 2013. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Charles; brother, Douglas MacDonald; and granddaughter, Taunia Oeschlin. She is survived by sons David and Charles "Mac" Halcrow; grandchildren, Casey, Jill, and Daniel Halcrow; and great-grandchildren Conner Oeschlin, Mason Halcrow and Maddox Halcrow. Jessie received her nursing degree from Northwestern College in Minneapolis and proceeded on to a long and distinguished career serving as a lead-nurse at St. Edwards Hospital in Drayton and working in the offices of Dr.'s Meyer, Frye, and Merideth. Throughout her career, Jessie was known to make time for those in need, never turning anyone away. Jessie was a family-woman first, always putting the needs of those around her ahead of her own. Holidays would often find Jessie holding a get-together for family and friends, seeing to it that everyone had a great time. She truly loved to cook and bake, and it came as a matter-of-course to anyone who knew her that a delicious dinner would await them on any holiday, special occasion, or any other day that Jessie decided to treat people to a special meal. Jessie will always be remembered for her amazing dinner rolls and cinnamon buns. Funeral services will be held at the Drayton United Methodist on Saturday, July 13, at 10:00 a.m. A graveside service will follow, with lunch and refreshments being served at the church following the service.
