Obituary

Jeremy Sollund, 55, a lifelong Karlstad, Minnesota resident, passed away
unexpectedly at LifeCare Medical Center in Roseau, Minnesota on Tuesday,
September 8, 2026. 

Jeremy Martin Sollund was born November 18, 1970 at Karlstad, the son of James and Carol (Petty) Sollund. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith and graduated from Karlstad High School in 1989. Jeremy went on to attend Bemidji State University, receiving his Bachelor of Science Degree in psychology in 1994. He
continued his education at the University of Wisconsin, Superior, receiving his Master's Degree in 1998.

On September 15, 2007 he was united in marriage to Denise Hagel at St. Paul, Minnesota. The couple settled in Karlstad and Jeremy continued his work with the NWRIC out of Newfolden, MN. Jeremy has done clinical testing and evaluation as a
psychologist for many years at area schools.

He was a longtime member of the Karlstad Fire Department and had recently retired from the department. Jeremy served on the Karlstad Ambulance Board and was active in the Karlstad Golf Course. He also enjoyed fishing and made many trips Lake of the Woods.

Jeremy's first love was his family. The joy he got from his sons and all the activities they were involved in is immeasurable. He will be missed by so many.

Family members include his wife, Denise; sons, Elijah James, Jack Michael
and Elliot William; his parents, James and Carol Sollund, Karlstad; brother, Michael (Debra) Sollund, Karlstad; in-laws, Larry and Debra Hagel, Bismarck, ND; sister-in-law, Lisa (David) Osborne, Woodbury, MN; brother-in-law, Justin Hagel, Maplewood, MN; as well as aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, John and Myrtle Sollund and maternal grandparents, Pete and Geraldine Petty; and an uncle, Lou Casagrande.

Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, September 12, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. in First Lutheran Church, Karlstad. Rev. Caitlin Jensen-Brown, presiding
