Obituary

Jean Johnson was born in Saskatchewan Canada in 1927 to John and Christina Kozak. As a young woman on a trip to visit her aunt in Lake Bronson, Minnesota, she met the man who would be her soul mate and future husband, Clifford Johnson. After only 3 months, they were married; they stayed on Clifford's family farm for the summers and went to work in Minneapolis during the winter season. Clifford's parents, Enoch and Alma Johnson, remained on the family farm for several more years as they farmed together. In the summer of 1967 they adopted two children, Ronald Johnson and Laura Johnson and they continued to raise their family in Lake Bronson as Ron and Laura attended school at Karlstad High School. After over 50 years of living on the family farm, Clifford and Jean retired to a home in Thief River Falls. Unfortunately, just a few years after retirement, Clifford passed away at which time Jean went to live with her daughter Laura in Fergus Falls. Ron currently lives in Mapleton, Minnesota with his wife Rev. Betty Johnson. Jean was also blessed with two granddaughters, April Rose Johnson and Jessica Jean Johnson, from Ron's first wife, Irene (Kostrewski) Johnson. As a young woman, Jean loved to spend time doing crafts, taking care of her flower gardens, and socializing. After retirement, she and Clifford loved to spend time at the Senior Center and visit with other seniors at morning coffee at McDonalds. Throughout all their life together, it didn't matter if they were on a far off travel or a simple event in a small nearby town; they always seemed to enjoy life as long as they were together. Thanks to God's wonderful gift of everlasting life, we can celebrate the reunion of two soul mates that, once again, get to spend time together....right where they should be. Graveside services were held Saturday, August 31, 2013 at Riverside Cemetery in Lake Bronson, Minnesota. Rev. Betty Johnson, presided.
