Jack Weaver, 76, of Lancaster, Minnesota passed away at his home on Monday, October 14, 2013. Jackie Loren Weaver was born August 18, 1937 in Roseau, Minnesota to John and Edna Weaver. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith, he attended school and grew to manhood in the Pencer area. Jack moved to the cities and became a truck driver. He belonged to the Teamsters Union #120 and was awarded numerous honors including the Three Million Mile Accident Free Driving Award. Jack married Susan and moved to Lancaster in 1989. He retired in 1994 after 33 years of trucking. Upon retirement Jack hardly ever missed 3:00 coffee and card games at the diner. He was an avid sports enthusiast with his favorite team being the Yankees, Jack and his dog Bruno were glued to the set for every game. Jack also enjoyed the great outdoors, he could often be seen manicuring his "perfect" lawn, tooling around on his 4-wheeler, feeding his birds and visiting his friends in the yard. He enjoyed deer hunting with his kids and visiting with his lifelong friends from the Wannaska area, where he maintained his boyhood farm. Jack wore a smile on face and had a twinkle in his eye, a friend to all. Jack is survived by his wife, Susan and her son, Dorran Anderson, Lancaster, his daughters, Sharolyn (Brad) Johnson, Karlstad, MN, Carolyn (Bruce) Weleski, Lancaster, Valerie Weaver, Coon Rapids, MN and son, Butch Weaver, Wyoming, MN; 8 grandchildren, Rachael (Mike) Morris, Ryan Johnson, Clark, Blake and Haley Weleski, Ashley, Matthew and Jonathan Weaver; a great grandchild, Joslyn Morris; nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Luverne, Lorraine, Delores and Miranda; and a brother, Russell. Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, October 18th, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. in Sion Lutheran Church at Lancaster. Interment will be in Riverview Memorial Garden Cemetery, Lancaster. Visitation will be held at the church on Thursday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Rev. Melodi Hagen and Rev. Galen Nordin, presiding. Special music will be provided by the Popple Ridge Pickers. Casket bearers will be Blake Weleski, Clark Weleski, Matt Weaver, Johnny Weaver, Ryan Johnson, Pat Coffield, Galyn Solberg, Leland Olson, Doug Cole, Calvin Nelson and Dick Hilman.
