Harriette Mae (Swenson) Lysfjord, 89, of Hallock, Minnesota passed away on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at Kittson Memorial Healthcare Center in Hallock. Harriette was born near Kennedy, Minnesota on January 9, 1928 to Almina Mae Swenson. Harriette was baptized December 4, 1928 in Red River Lutheran Church and confirmed there April 18, 1943. She attended the Grandquist country school and graduated from Kennedy High School in 1947. Harriette went on to attend Security Beauty College in Grand Forks, North Dakota. She was united in marriage to Charles Roger Lysfjord on June 17, 1949 at Red River Lutheran Church. In 1959 they built a new home in Kennedy that included Harriette's Beauty Shop. Harriette operated it until 1995 when they moved to Lake of the Woods near Baudette. They enjoyed a retirement on the lake that was filled with family, friends and fishing.

Family members include her son, Michael (Debbi) Lysfjord, Mesa, AZ; daughter, Michelle (Ron) Johnson, Hallock; grandchildren, Heather (Karl) Johnson, Heidi (Todd) Carlson, Todd Lysfjord, Hayley Howland, Jessi (Josh) Ottesen and Cody (Katie) Johnson; great grandchildren, Alex, Anthony, Grant, Maddie, Cooper, Tucker, Rachel, Brett and Greg. She was preceded in death by her mother, Almina; husband, Charles; and daughter, Vickie.

Memorial services are scheduled for Monday, January 16, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in Maria Lutheran Church, Kennedy, Minnesota. Interment will be in Red River Cemetery next spring. Visitation will be held at the church for one hour prior to the service.
