Harold Erickson, 82, of Karlstad, Minnesota passed away at Karlstad Healthcare Center on Monday, May 27, 2013. Harold Levene Erickson was born October 9, 1930 on the family farm in Jupiter Township of Kittson County. He was baptized and confirmed in East Emmaus Lutheran Church and attended country schools. On July 3, 1949 he married Lorraine Johnson at Lake Bronson. The couple settled on a farm in Jupiter Township and raised their family there. Harold farmed and raised livestock in addition to working on several area farms. He semi retired in 1972, but continued to do seasonal work on farms in the area. Harold enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an excellent small engine repair man, fixing many a lawnmower. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Lorraine; a daughter, Lois (David) Keith, Cape Coral, FL; two sons, Lyle (Glenda), Drayton, ND and Troy (Brandi), Live Oak, FL; 11 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a great granddaughter, Peyton; and a brother, John. Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, May 31, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. in Zion Lutheran Church at Lake Bronson, Minnesota. Interment will be in East Emmaus Cemetery, rural Lake Bronson. Pastor Kathy Levenhagen, presiding; special music, Wesley and Barbara Staie. Harold's casket bearers will be his grandchildren, Johanna Palmer, Leah Palmer, Lane Erickson, Kyle Erickson, Ethan Erickson, Michael Erickson, Jacob Erickson, Landon Erickson, Thomas Wambach, Kristi Johnson and Billie Higgins. Honorary casket bearers will be great grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Thursday evening at the Austin Funeral Chapel in Hallock from 6 to 8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m.
