Obituary

Glen Westerberg, 89, of Lancaster, Minnesota passed away Saturday, April 13th, 2013 at Kittson Memorial Healthcare Center in Hallock, Minnesota. Glen Clifford Westerberg was born to George and Winnifred (Holdstock) Westerberg January 10, 1924 in Percy Township of Kittson County, Minnesota. In 1926 Glen, his parents and two siblings moved to Hazelton Township where his two nephews farm today. He farmed his entire life along with his brother, Roger and did carpentry work all over Kittson County. On February 2, 1946 he married Florence Peterson of Lancaster. They were married 67 years and were blessed with two daughters, LaVonne and Idell. He was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church. In 1979 Glen and Florence were named Valley Farmer and Homemaker of the year for Kittson County. He is survived by his wife, Florence; daughters, LaVonne (Dave) Arnold, Grand Forks, ND and Idell (Ken) Klegstad, Halma; grandchildren, Les (Tracy), Glen (Kim) and Steve (Melissa) Arnold, Michael (Rochell), Daryl (Jennifer), Kerry and Kayla Klegstad; great grandchildren; Layne, Tanner, Trevor, Andrew, Adam, Emily, Grace and Ella Arnold, Alaura, Keaton, Jaxon and Eli Klegstad; a step great grandson, Dane Hanson; and sisters, Ruth Eeg, Greenbush, MN, Altha Carlson, Hallock and Phyllis (Jim) Sutherland, Minneapolis; a sister-in-law, DeeAnn Westerberg, Lancaster and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Gordon in WWII and Roger in 2012. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, April 20, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in Zion Lutheran Church, Lake Bronson. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Lake Bronson. Visitation will be held at the church for one hour prior to the funeral service. Rev. Melodi Hagen, presiding; special music provided by Keaton Klegstad, Galen Nordin and Bruce Steen. Casket bearers will be grandchildren Les Arnold, Glen Arnold, Steven Arnold, Michael Klegstad, Daryl Klegstad, Kerry Klegstad and Kayla Klegstad. The family prefers memorials to Riverside Cemetery or Zion Lutheran Church.
