Gary Wayne Peterson, 75, of Lancaster, Minnesota passed away at Karlstad Healthcare Center in Karlstad, Minnesota on Thursday, July 2, 2015. Gary was born February 5th, 1940 at Hallock, Minnesota to George and Orphie (Sorenson) Peterson. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and was a member of Sion Lutheran Church. On February 10th, 1956 he married Marjorie Hord. Gary was an over the road truck driver for numerous years. In 1966 he moved back to the family farm and started cattle and small grain farming. In his retirement years he worked for Davidson's Construction until 2014. Gary is survived by his wife of 59 years, Marjorie; sons, Greg (Crystal) Peterson, Lancaster and Mark (Shirley) Peterson, Strathcona, MN; a daughter, Beth Ann (Rob) Korczak, Bemidji, MN; grandchildren, Krystal, Shane, and Lexi Peterson, Justin, Jeffrey and Jessica Peterson, Austin and Samantha Korczak; eight great grandchildren and one more arriving in October, a sister, Beverly Beck of Chaska, MN and a brother, Kenneth (Barbara) Peterson, Lancaster. He is preceded in death by parents; maternal and paternal grandparents; an infant sister and sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Jim Clow. Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in Sion Lutheran Church, Lancaster. Interment will be in Riverview Memorial Garden, Lancaster. Visitation will be held at the church on Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Rev. Melodi Hagen, presiding; Dianne Rice, organist; Savannah Bernstrom, soloist and Amanda Caillier, pianist. Honorary casket bearers will be the Buck Alley Hunting Gang.
