Dorothy Lubka, 83, of Fargo and formerly of Drayton, North Dakota passed away at Vibra Hospital in Fargo on Wednesday, April 29th, 2015 with her family by her side. Dorothy Louise Raney was born November 17, 1931 to A. Edwin Raney and Virginia (Betaque) Raney. Her life began on the family farm in Lincoln Township, Pembina County, North Dakota, located just north of Drayton. On September 4, 1947 she married Merrill (Bud) Lubka. Dorothy lived in Drayton until 1998, except for a brief period in California shortly after she and Bud were married. She was a member of the Drayton United Methodist Church and participated in several community activities, including local homemakers clubs. Dorothy enjoyed gardening and looked forward to canning and preserving in the fall months. For several years she worked in the family business, Raney Hardware, and served as a sales representative for Watkins Products. In 1998 Dorothy, Bud and daughter Ginny moved to Fargo, where she lived for her remaining years. While living in Fargo, she was an active member of Friendship United Methodist Church and First United Methodist Church. Dorothy's greatest joy came from time she spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Dorothy is survived by her children, Sharon Lubka Dornheim and Roger Lubka of Austin, TX; three grandchildren, Gretchen Dornheim(Keith) French, of The Woodlands, TX, Randall Klemisch of Phoenix, AZ and Jamie Klemisch (Matthew) Rarick of Drayton, ND; five great grandchildren, Alexander French, Christian French and Lauren French of The Woodlands, TX, Jonah Rarick and Ruth Rarick of Drayton; sisters, Angelina Raney Vinje and Mary Raney Howe and a brother, Edwin (Jacqueline) Raney. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a brother, Albert Raney; daughters, Merrilee Lubka Klemisch and Virginia (Ginny) Lubka; and great granddaughter, Calla Rarick. Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the United Methodist Church at Drayton. Interment will be in Drayton City Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church for two hours prior to the funeral service. Rev. Gary Johnson, presiding; Shirley VanCamp, soloist and Karen Schumacher, organist. Casket bearers will be Marvin Hauger, Matthew Rarick, Randall Klemisch, Lyle VanCamp, Mark Raney and Ken Gardner.
