Donn grew up in the grocery business and worked alongside his father at Merv's Red Owl in Stephen until 1983. He then owned and operated Outback Jax convenience store and bait shop in Baudette for many years. Donn was a late-stage lung cancer survivor and the disease left him disabled for the last few years.

Donn was an avid outdoorsman with an engaging sense of humor. He was a perpetual practical joker but never at anyone else's expense. But most importantly, the pride and joy of his life were his two sons, Mike and Travis. Donn always spoke glowingly of how proud he was of his two wonderful sons.

Donn was preceded in death by his parents and former wife Cheryl Anderson of Baudette. He is survived by his sons Michael (Stephani) Anderson of St. Louis Park and Travis Anderson of Willmar, brother Bruce Anderson (Shelvie) of Duluth, sisters Faye (Ron) Jasmer of Grand Forks and Shirley (Todd) Henrickson of Stephen, step-children Aaron Stallman, Ben Stallman, Jessamy Hulings, and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. with a funeral service to follow at 2 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 30th at First Lutheran Church in Stephen.
