Obituary

Dennis Peterson, 79, of Lake Bronson, Minnesota passed away at LifeCare Medical Center in Roseau, Minnesota on Tuesday, December 3, 2013. Dennis Leroy Peterson was born April 23, 1934 at home in Jupiter Township to Hilmer and Esther (Martinson) Peterson. Dennis grew up at Lake Bronson and attended school there. He served with the U.S. Army from 1952 to 1955 and was stationed in Korea. Upon his return home he helped as a morale officer working with veterans struggling with the stresses of military duty. In 1957 he married Carol Ann Thom. They lived in Wisconsin where Dennis worked as construction painter for Northern Signal Company. Carol passed away in 1963. In 1966 Dennis married Judith Rosengren. Dennis moved back to Lake Bronson in the 1980's and became plant manager at the Roseau Seed Elevator. After retiring he began traveling and made a trip to Alaska to see his daughter, Jenny and his grandchildren. Dennis enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing his entire life. Family members include his daughters, Jeanette, Alaska, Brenda, North Dakota, Sherlyn, Arizona, Doreen and Deanie, Wisconsin; sons, Vernon in North Dakota, Rocky, Roseau, MN, Jeffrey, Fargo, ND, Dennis Jr., Wisconsin, Michael, Minnesota and Daren, Wisconsin; grandchildren; sisters, Arlene, Erskine, MN, Ardyce, Lake Bronson and Lois, Red Lake Falls, MN; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Carol; two grandsons; and two brothers, Ronald and Lowell. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, December 7, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in Zion Lutheran Church at Lake Bronson. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Lake Bronson. Visitation will be held at the church for one hour prior to the funeral service. Pastor Kathy Levenhagen, presiding; Sharlene Klegstad, organist and Galen Nordin, soloist. Casket bearers will be family and friends. Military honors will be accorded by the Halma-Lake Bronson American Legion.
